Since the State Fair of Virginia will be moving to Caroline in 2009 the Hermon Association has joined with Central Virginia Baptist Ministries (CVBM) to support the State Fair Ministry Team.  The State Fair Ministry Team, using volunteer help, assists with such things as the Lost Child Booth,  a facility for nursing mothers, the Ambassadors (volunteers who hand out programs and answer questions),  and a chaplaincy service for those who have a need.  This year the team hopes to offer breakfast and worship services on both Sundays for the workers who travel with the fair and are often far from home.  They will also be given hospitality bags.  Our purpose is to show God's love by out actions, not by "preaching."

All of  this is in the planning stage and subject change and approval by the State Fair of Virginia.

Funds will be needed for the breakfast and hospitality bags.  The Ambassador volunteers agree to serve three- five hour shifts (with an hour off for lunch).  There will be an orientation program in September.   Ambassadors serve in teams so you wouldn't be working by yourself.  All volunteers are given free admission to the fair.
