Virginia Baptists are now collecting medical supplies that will be transported to Haiti and used by volunteers currently on the field and by those who may go in the near future.  Please take the next few weeks to collect these items and then deliver them to the Virginia Baptist Mission Board during the week of February 15–19. We plan to load a truck with all of the supplies on Saturday, February 20 and send it to our partners for distribution. 

APPROVED MEDICAL ITEMS HAITI RELIEF

Medications: These items can be purchased at any local drug store

Aspirin Benadryl
Children and adult multi-vitamin Ibuprophen (generic)
Neosporin or triple antibiotic Hydrocortisone Ointment
Oral re-hydration salts Cough medications
Acetaminophen (does not have to be Tylenol )

Medical Supplies: These items can be purchased at any local drug store

Ace bandages Alcohol pads
Band-aids Betadine wipes and sticks
Drapes Gauzes – any size
Gloves – all sizes, sterile/non-sterile Tape – all types
Pediatric supplies Thermometers
Gowns -surgical and patient (head and shoe covers, goggles, masks)

Other: These items may be donated by hospitals or medical suppliers

Antibiotics Zantac
Prevacid Hypertension medications
Type two-Diabetes medication Blades – sterile only
Needles – butterfly, angio catheter Compression stockings
Scalpels Surgical towels – cloth/paper
Sutures Syringes
Tongue depressors Cotton tipped applicators
IV supplies – tubing in sterile packages only
Sponges – surgical only (includes X-ray detectable)
Dressings – sterile and un-sterile (Coban, Tegaderm, Steri-Strip, Surgilast)
